Informations about the submission of papers:

The International Colloquium on Gregory of Nyssa focuses upon the Trinitarian Theology of Gregory of Nyssa in the Opera Minora. As in the last International Colloquia, speakers for the main communications will be invited for commenting the text viz. the single treatises. Additionally there will be sections with short communications. For each short communication 20 min. and 5 min. discussion will be scheduled. Approximately 30-40 short communications can be accepted.

Scholars of all disciplines working on Gregory are invited to submit papers about the main subject of the Colloquium and questions related to it. Besides, all current projects on Gregory of Nyssa are invited to present themselves and to discuss their strategies and preliminary results.

The following languages are welcome: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish.

Please submit your proposal for a paper by giving the following informations:

- Name
- Current address, e-mail
- Institution
- Preliminary Title of the Paper
- Short explanation of the question raised in the paper


For the support of the commentaries of the Opera Minora, papers on the following subjects are welcome in particular:

- Analysis of the use of the Bible in the Opera Minora
- Analysis of terms of the Trinitarian Theology in the Opera Minora
- Analysis of images, comparisons, rhetorical figures in the Opera Minora
- Comparisons with other thinkers of the 4th century, especially Basil of Caesarea, Athanasius, Gregory of Nazianzen
- Comparisons of selected passages with other works of Gregory
- Philological commentaries on selected passages
- Contributions on the manuscript tradition of the Opera minora
- Analysis of ancient translations of the Opera minora (esp. Syriac, Latin)
- Analysis of the relation to the Apollinaristica
- Analysis of the relation to the Eunomian Controversy


The Scientific Committee will take into consideration all submissions of papers. If we will get too many proposals the final decision about the acceptance of the proposal will be left to the Scientific Committee.
